112 years of Becker Guss, and at the same time a new chapter: at a celebration in our foundry in Mödling, Lower Austria's Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner and WKNÖ Vice President Erich Moser honoured Ernst Hrabalek and Patrick Hrabalek for the long success story of our family business. They presented the certificate of the Economic Chamber of Lower Austria expressing “thanks and recognition for achievements in the interest of the Lower Austrian economy”.

A tradition that continues

For more than a century, Becker Guss has stood for expertise, quality and continuity. Over this time our company has been through economically difficult years and many technical upheavals, and has always remained a reliable partner for our customers.

A new generation

The celebration was also an important milestone for us: Ernst Hrabalek celebrated his 81st birthday at the end of September and is handing over responsibility for the company to the next generation. From now on, his son Patrick Hrabalek will lead the family business.

Recognition for family businesses

Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner emphasised how important successful family businesses are for Lower Austria as a business location: as employers, as drivers of innovation and as strong partners in the regions. WKNÖ Vice President Erich Moser said:

“112 years of company history are an expression of vision, perseverance and great personal commitment. Family businesses like Becker Guss have a lasting impact on our business location and create valuable jobs.”Erich Moser, Vice President of the Economic Chamber of Lower Austria

A look behind the scenes

After the presentation of the certificate, the Governor took time for a tour of the foundry. Our employee Philipp Gilly showed her how a sand mould is made and explained how a pattern and moulding sand become a casting.

We would like to thank Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner, Vice President Erich Moser, Andrea Lautermüller, head of the WK Mödling district office, and all our guests for their visit and their appreciation. Our biggest thanks, however, go to our team. Without you there would be no 112 years of Becker Guss.
